Gua Musang’s police chief, Superintendent Sik Choon Foo, reported that the heavy downpour began around 7 p.m. local time, quickly flooding multiple settlements and disrupting traffic on major roads. Among the hardest-hit areas were Jalan Gua Musang–Lojing near the police headquarters and Jalan Gua Musang–Kuala Krai, especially at the Bendahara Traffic Light Intersection.
Throughout the night, emergency teams worked tirelessly to evacuate residents and monitor rising river levels, particularly in low-lying parts of the town.
By this morning, the rain had finally stopped. Authorities report that conditions are improving and floodwaters are receding, but they continue to urge everyone to stay alert, as more rain may be expected in the coming days.
